Surekote 6™

Surekote 6™ Systems is a 3 or 5 year system designed as economical application that still provides a superior coating than standard Powder coating or Wet Spray.

Process summarized and not to be construed as the exact process. Since all SureKote Processes are proprietary a fully detailed process is not available openly. The following is a summary.

Surekote 6™ System 3 year system over black steel begins with a cleaning process to remove all surfaces oils (1) SSPC-SP1Removal of all detrimental foreign matter such as oil, grease, dirt, soil, salts, drawing and cutting compounds, and other contaminants from steel surfaces by the use of solvents, emulsions, cleaning compounds, steam or other similar materials and methods which involve a solvent or cleaning action. (2) SSPC-SP6 Sa 2 NACE 3 Commercial Blast Cleaning - Removal of mill scale, rust, rust scale, paint or foreign matter by the use of abrasives propelled through nozzles or by centrifugal wheels, to the degree specified. A Commercial Blast Cleaned Surface Finish is defined as one from which all oil, grease, dirt, rust scale and foreign matter have been completely removed from the surface and all rust, mill scale and old paint have been completely removed except for slight shadows, streaks, or discolorations caused by rust stain, mill scale oxides or slight, tight residues of paint or coating that may remain. (3) once material has been properly inspected and cleaned of any blasting dust a primer coat SureKote-Z™, which is a proprietary Zinc Finish that is designed to be used in the SureKote™ Application Process. The actual application and cure time of this primer is proprietary. (4) Once material is cooled it is again inspected for film thick (DFT), and adhesion. Then a light sanding process, the details and methods are proprietary.  Then the final coat is applied - SureKote-SD™ is a proprietary Super Durable Finish that is designed to be used in the SureKote™ Application.
